The candidates can check the official website for more information on the postponement of the exam at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.

Earlier, the exam conducting authorities were all set to conduct the examination on 7th November 2021. The admit card for the exam was also released on 8th October 2021 by the Indian Institute of Science, IISc Bengaluru. The fresh date for the examination will be released soon.

The official notification on the postponement of the KVPY Exam 2021 mentions, “The Honourable High Court of Madras, Madurai bench stayed the KVPY Aptitude Test scheduled on November 07, 2021. We regret to inform you that the KVPY Aptitude Test will not be held on November 07, 2021. Further updates will be available on the website, kvpy.iisc.ernet.in.”

The exam conducting body decided for the postponement of the exam after the petition was filed at the High Court of Madras on regional language issues. The court said in an official statement that KVPY Exam 2021 could not be conducted only in English and Hindi as it would be unfair for the students studied in regional mediums. The Centre must also take appropriate steps to conduct national-level fellowship examinations in regional languages.

After the completion of the healing process, the High Court ordered the exam authorities to revisit their decision and to come up with a solution to the concern. The court has also informed the Centre regarding the regional language concern and said to postpone the exam till a solution is found. The candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for more detailed information and updates.
